Stack Officials

For the first time, Region 109 will be using Stack Officials to manage our referee assignments for games. Stack Officials is connected to our registration and game scheduling portal, which allows us to more easily make games available for referee assignments, track assignments, run reports, and send notifications.

You can access the Web app at stackofficials.com, or download for iOS/Android

**A note about payments: You will see references throughout much of the documentation and app about payments. While Stack Officials does support payments, Region 109 is not currently utilizing it. While we may explore it in the future for our Youth Referee program, for now you can ignore any references to payment related functionality.

If you experience any issues while using the apps, please contact refadmin@mpsoccer.org and we’ll do our best to assist you. You are also welcome to peruse the Stack Officials Help Center. Some helpful articles to get familiar with the system are:

We’ve summarized some of the main functionality below.

Logging in

You should receive an email invitation when we add you to our season for scheduling. You’ll login to stackofficials.com using the same username and password you used when registering as a volunteer with ayso109.org. Your first time logging in you’ll be prompted to provide some additional information to create your Stack Officials account.

Self-Assignments

We typically rely on referees to self-assign (aka “claim”) games they are able to officiate. One of the benefits is that we will configure the system such that you will only ever see games that you are qualified to officiate (e.g. if you are 8U certified, you will not see 14U games).

After logging-in, go to the “Dashboard” page (if it’s not the default). You will see a calendar from which you can click on dates with available games. After clicking you can then select games with available positions, and claim them by selecting the “+”

A more thorough explanation can be found in this article: Self-Assignment

Availability

Stack Officials allows you to set your availability for assignments in a calendar. Because we use self-assignment, we don’t recommend adding availability, as it may inadvertently cause you to not see available games for assignment.

Schedule Changes

One of the nice things about Stack Officials is that you will be automatically notified if any aspect of a game you have self-assigned (or been assigned to) is changed (such as time or location). You’ll receive an email notification when this happens, and be prompted to login and re-accept the game (or decline).

More information on how to accept a modified assignment can be found here: Cancelled and Postponed Games
